Introduction
QTP stands for Quick Test Professional, software from HP to provide functional and regression test automation for software applications and environment. It can also be used for enterprise quality assurance. It was renamed as HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT) by combining QTP and HP Service Test in 2012. It uses both Visual Basic scripting language (VBScript) and a graphical user interface (GUI) to specify a test procedure and to control the objects under test. It is significantly easier for a non-technical person to create working test cases. The Test Report is more robust in QTP compared to all other testing tools. QTP is mainly used for functional testing and has many more advanced features than many other testing tools. Due to its advanced features, it can act as Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for the test. The integrated HP UFT software allows developers to test all the three layers of a program's operations from a single computer: the interface, the service layer and the database layer.
